When's the last time you went on a picnic while gluten-free? To be honest, I don't think many people go on picnics that much anymore! It's such a nice experience to be outside with your family or a loved one, enjoying the outdoors away from your phones and the technology in the world. You truly get to enjoy the time you have with one another all while enjoying some delicious food. When it comes to gluten-free, what exactly do you pack for a picnic and how do you keep it fresh? There can be a few more difficulties when it comes to having a gluten free picnic so here's some tips from myself and Enjoy Life Foods to have a successful gluten-free picnic no matter where you are.
Trick or Treat is right around the corner which means going out with food allergies can always make this a tough situation. Us food allergy bloggers have lots of experiences in being a parent in these situations (myself excluded). Keep your children safe this Halloween but still let them have fun with these Tips on How to Trick or Treat with Food Allergies!

I'm 18 years old so I'm luckily done with the "back to school" days when it comes to high school. However, I will be starting college soon which means that I'll have to be prepared when it comes to eating gluten-free away from home. Eating gluten-free is already hard enough when you're an adult but planning for your kids can be much harder! Here are my top healthy gluten-free snacks for back to school that can be great for any age.

Living a healthy lifestyle can be difficult but adding in a gluten restriction can make coming up with appetizing meals seem impossible. By keeping a few key healthy foods stocked in your fridge you can relieve yourself the stress of coming up with a new meal everyday. Just mix these healthy foods into creative plates and you’ll feel energized and healthy all week long.

You may be surprised to know that some naturally gluten-free products you buy from main brands like, Publix, Kroger, Giant Eagle, etc. may not actually be gluten-free. Nuts, vegetables, and other naturally gluten-free products can be made on shared equipment possibly with wheat. Lately, I've been trying to pay more attention to the labels on the foods I eat. I've always been pretty good about reading labels but the one thing I haven't paid much attention to is whether a product is made on shared equipment or not. You may be aware of what ingredients to look out for or how safe certain products are, but when it comes to food being made on shared equipment, how safe are you?

So I like to think that I am a really educated gluten free person who has been through the ropes and has a pretty good grasp on what is and what Is not gluten-free.  For years now I have been eating sushi without a care in the world … that is until last weekend.  We were out with a group of friends and we ordered our food.  I ordered a tuna roll and brought my San-J Tamari Soy Sauce with me – prepared and ready to eat.  The waiter just happened to overhear a conversation that I was having with my friends about my gluten free diet and he told me that their sushi was not gluten free.  He said that the product they used to hold the rice together contained wheat.  What????  My mind was completely blown.  All these years I thought that I was safely eating sushi when who knows how many times I got sick and had no idea it was from the sushi.

So you've already gone gluten-free. You may have been gluten-free for a month, 6 months, a year or more, but fatigue is still an issue for you. Some people, and probably most people, experience tons of relief after going gluten-free. Your immune system begins to restore, your energy gets better, you don't have as much GI problems. But other people, like myself, still deal with tons of symptoms daily that don't seem to go away! This can include fatigue, brain fog, digestion problems, trouble concentrating, and the list goes on. So you're probably asking yourself, "why do I still have all these symptoms if going gluten-free is supposed to make it better?" The biggest reason that most people don't consider is adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue occurs when the body goes under tons of stress. So you can imagine, having gluten after all those years you should be avoiding it causes a major stress on the body that takes more than just a gluten-free diet to recover.
This Christmas will be my 5th gluten-free Christmas so far. Each year we always make our own gluten-free food and have a dinner that is 100% gluten-free! I know each family dinner is different from the next and the holidays may not be easy. Some people go to other's houses and have a dinner where gluten may be involved. Some people may have family members in your household who are not gluten-free which means gluten is involved as well. Either way I want to offer some tips as a teenager to make sure you spend the holidays worry free while being gluten-free this Christmas.

Coconut oil has many health benefits including boosted immune system, proper digestion and regulated metabolism, weight loss, cholesterol level maintenance, skin and hair care.  It has also proven to provide  relief for kidney problems, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer.

Coconut oil contains lauric acid which our body turns into monolaurin which is known to help the body deal with viruses and bacteria that cause diseases. Check out the many more health benefits of coconut oil below!
For a while I've been giving a lot of advice as a teen about living gluten-free. By no means am I an expert or someone who's certified in anything, but I've always tried my best to give the best advice from my experiences. One person that has a lot of experience in this area would be Rachel Begun. She has over 14 years of nutritional experience in the gluten-free world and you may have seen her name around before too. I'm very excited to share this post with you so check out these great tips from Rachel Began for living gluten-free!

Everyone takes on going gluten-free in their own way. Some people research it first and take it on like a pro. Others get overwhelmed and don't really know what to do. I've gained a lot of experience over the last 4 years, learned a lot of things, and also gotten a lot advice from people as well. Even though I'm 16 years old, I can definitely say I'm a pro by now. Even though I'm very experienced, there's a lot of things I wish I knew when I first went went gluten-free 4 years ago. That's why I put together this list of 5 things that everyone should know before they go gluten-free. I hope this is helpful to you no matter how experienced you are!

Vitamin deficiencies are very common with people who are gluten-free. Most people going gluten-free think that it will make them feel better but they forget the vitamins they are taking out of their diet. With this video and post I share what the most common vitamins are you would be deficient in as well as what foods you can eat to get them.

BHT is a commonly seen ingredient in a lot of today's foods. It's been shown to cause a lot of problems, especially to those with a BHT sensitivity which usually goes unseen. A lot of people who are gluten-free are actually reported to have a BHT sensitivity as well. BHT is used in many gluten-free products to preserve flavor and is definitely an ingredient you should become more aware of which I help you with in this post.

You may have or have not heard of the ingredient Aspartame. If you haven't heard of it then it's definitely an ingredient you should be more aware of. There are studies that have shown many symptoms it's linked to as well as many diseases it worsens over time. You would think that such a commonly seen ingredient in sweet products has to be safe. You would think that, but aspartame is actually banned in multiple countries around the world and can be dangerous. I share every important thing you need to know about aspartame in the video and post below!

I decided to do this video and post on an important topic many aren't aware of. The adrenal gland plays a vital role into everyone's life and how they live. I wanted to share with you some things about it and how it can cause you to have many symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, GI issues, and so much more. Many people are not aware of the adrenal gland and I hope to make much more aware to show you what you need to know with this post.

Activated charcoal is something that a lot of you may or may not know about. It essentially helps you get over a reaction to gluten much quicker and helps with getting glutened overall! But a lot of you may not know when to take it, if there are any side effects, or if there are any dangers while taking it as well. In this video I explain all you need to know about it as well as share some key points below.
