A lot of people go gluten-free for celiac disease and think this will solve all their problems. Unfortunately this isn't for everyone. In fact, a large majority of the people that have celiac disease also have lactose intolerance! In this video and short post, I explain to you the connection between the 2 as well as the symptoms you should realize if you are lactose intolerant.


Vitamin deficiencies are very common with people who are gluten-free. Most people going gluten-free think that it will make them feel better but they forget the vitamins they are taking out of their diet. With this video and post I share what the most common vitamins are you would be deficient in as well as what foods you can eat to get them.


BHT is a commonly seen ingredient in a lot of today's foods. It's been shown to cause a lot of problems, especially to those with a BHT sensitivity which usually goes unseen. A lot of people who are gluten-free are actually reported to have a BHT sensitivity as well. BHT is used in many gluten-free products to preserve flavor and is definitely an ingredient you should become more aware of which I help you with in this post.


You may have or have not heard of the ingredient Aspartame. If you haven't heard of it then it's definitely an ingredient you should be more aware of. There are studies that have shown many symptoms it's linked to as well as many diseases it worsens over time. You would think that such a commonly seen ingredient in sweet products has to be safe. You would think that, but aspartame is actually banned in multiple countries around the world and can be dangerous. I decided to do this video and post on an important topic many aren't aware of. The adrenal gland plays a vital role into everyone's life and how they live. I wanted to share with you some things about it and how it can cause you to have many symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, GI issues, and so much more. Many people are not aware of the adrenal gland and I hope to make much more aware to show you what you need to know with this post.


Activated charcoal is something that a lot of you may or may not know about. It essentially helps you get over a reaction to gluten much quicker and helps with getting glutened overall! But a lot of you may not know when to take it, if there are any side effects, or if there are any dangers while taking it as well. In this video I explain all you need to know about it as well as share some key points below.


For this video I decided to do it on Gluten and Candy to make you aware of what you should avoid or not when it comes to it. I just discuss the most popular brands of candies that are gluten-free as well as share ones you should avoid. I also share which candies you should be careful of as well even though they say they are gluten-free. For this post and video I decided to do it on something pretty simple that most of you know about but share some things that may be helpful. Cross contamination is one of the biggest issues we all deal with while being gluten-free. A lot of the reasons we may continue to get glutened may not be from actual gluten we are eating, but from the gluten our foods are coming in contact with. That's why I made this video and post to give you the best ideas of where cross contamination can occur that should be helpful to anyone!

This week for What The Heck? Wednesday I got the ingredient Buckwheat brought to me. In the video I pretty much explain if this is an ingredient you should avoid on the gluten-free diet as well as the many health benefits you can get from buckwheat! Below I have some recipes with buckwheat that you can use as well as more information on buckwheat in general.


This week I decided to do my video on getting glutened. We all experience every once in a while and can say what the heck for a lot of reasons! What the heck got me glutened? What the heck do I do to help? Or I guess even why the heck is this happening to me? Whatever it may be hopefully my video and post can be helpful to you! Below I also have a link to a list of the Top Hidden Products with Gluten as well as the things I do to recover from getting glutened quickest!


After being in the hospital for a while I decided to make my next video on what I noticed with the doctors and what they knew about celiac disease. A lot of you have probably had your fair share of experiences with doctors when it comes to this, but for me it's been 2 years since my last experience. I was hoping it would be a somewhat better experience but it was not at all..I explain more in the video!


This week I decided to do my video with the new addition to my family, Teddy! Pet food is one that I don't think many people consider to be giving them a reaction so I thought this would be a perfect thing to say "What the heck?" to. Teddy is gluten-free so we don't have to worry about it, but checking labels of your pet's food is important now too!


This week I decided to do my video on food coloring. You've probably all seen Red #40, Yellow #6, and Blue #1, but what additives actually go inside these ingredients to make them what they are? From what I researched and what I explain in the video, it makes me pretty happy that I eat natural gluten-free foods and avoid all these coloring.


For this video I got the ingredient whey submitted to me which I though was a great one. When I first went gluten-free I always wondered about this one too so hopefully I can give you a better idea on whether it is safe or not. I also talked pretty fast to cover a lot of info quickly but I'll post key points below!


For this video I decided to do it on modified ingredients in general. This can range from modified starches, modified sugars, and to genetically modified ingredients as well. I give you a better idea of one specific ingredient to avoid on the gluten-free diet in general, and some info on what "modified" means as well! Oh, and don't mind Max in the beginning either...haha!


This Wednesday I decided to do my video on unneeded gluten in certain foods and products. Really it's just a good topic to say "What the heck?" to but I also give a little more info on foods you should be more aware of containing gluten.


This week I did my video on Celiac Awareness. A lot of it had to do with how I felt about the gluten-free community lately and the advocacy that goes along with it. I'm just giving my opinion on what should be made aware during Celiac Disease Awareness Month other than Celiac Disease itself.


For my 4th What the Heck? Wednesday Video, I got the ingredient Citric Acid brought to me! This video wasn't too long but I pretty much covered everything important you need to know about the ingredient and listed some more info on it below. Oh and Happy Celiac Disease Awareness month everybody!


This week for my 3rd What the Heck? Wednesday, I decided to do my video on modified food starch! I'll give you a better idea of the ingredient and help you know if it is something you should avoid or not on a gluten-free diet. I was very tired in this video by the way so I apologize!
