When's the last time you stepped foot into a McDonalds? Maybe a year? Maybe more? For me it's been over 5. (Besides the time I had to pee real bad on a road trip but hey, that doesn't count) We all stay away from most of the items on McDonalds' menu we know it's just something we can't have. Personally, I wouldn't want to eat any of that crap anyways because I know not one thing on their menu can be good for my health. That being said, that doesn't mean that there aren't a few things from their restaurant that would be tasty. When I look at the Egg McMuffin I think, "yea...that's definitely one of them." The only thing is that a McDonald's Egg McMuffin is filled with so much chemicals and perservatives, it really doesn't need to be that way! You can make your own Egg McMuffin that's just as good (if not better) and the best part is it can be 100% gluten-free and dairy free too.
This is an awesome gluten-free recipe that I snagged from Enjoy Life Foods using their new gluten-free all purpose flour mix. All their new mixes are top 8 allergen free and have honestly made baking much easier as a gluten-free teen. I'd like to think that I'm a lot better at baking compared to most people my age, however, that doesn't mean I enjoy recipes with 100's of ingredients. That's really why I like Enjoy Life mixes so much because they make all recipes super easy to make. I'll be trying to include Enjoy Life mixes in my recipes a lot more this Fall, so make sure to check them out if you haven't yet. They are great if you want to avoid the top 8 allergies as well.

For the GlutenAway Virtual Expo back in July, we had a lot of great companies involved. If you attended I'm sure you got to see tons of great companies involved and learn about a lot of new gluten-free products. One of my favorite products from this expo that I discovered happened to be Wholesome Chow Mixes. All mixes are gluten-free and free of the Top 8 Allergens! Not only are they free of those allergens but they also make amazing breads and cakes like no other. One of the things I got to make with the mixes was this recipe for a Gluten-free Pumpkin Pineapple Carrot Breakfast Loaf. It's amazing and super soft to make fore breakfast. Not to mention, it's pretty easy to make too which is something I always try to share on my blog. Make sure to check out Wholesome Chow Mixes and to try out this recipe too!

Guest Post by: Isabel of Banana Pancakes On Baker Street!

My name is Isabel, and I'm a teenager who enjoys paying lacrosse, volunteering at a local horse barn, and working backstage for my school's drama productions. I have been cooking practically my whole life, "helping" my mom in the kitchen. I love to cook because it is fun to share my creations with family and friends, and there are so many amazing things to make out there! I really enjoy trying new recipes, especially the zany ones. I started to experiment with gluten-free recipes and substitutions so my siblings and I can enjoy great meals with my mom (who is gluten-free). The fun thing about working without gluten is that it makes you think creatively to find ways to adapt recipes and make your own. I was making gluten-free pumpkin bread with my mom when we decided to try adding chocolate chips and making muffins out of one of our favorite family recipes. We love what happened, and I hope you do too!

This is another recipe that I decided to repost for Thanksgiving that has been pretty popular. It's very easy to make and is very fluffy as well! Breakfast for Thanksgiving or even the morning after Thanksgiving is something I'm sure many people do but aren't sure what recipes to use. This recipe is great for the mornings and it makes a lot of muffins as well. These muffins can be made dairy free as well which makes it a lot better for most people. They make around 30 muffins making it perfect for however many guests you have for Thanksgiving! You can bring it as a dessert or use it as a Breakfast treat! Either way it's a rich and fluffy recipe that makes enough muffins to give to everyone at your Thanksgiving dinner. Try it out and enjoy!
Since it's pretty much almost Halloween, I thought it would be good to share some of the best gluten-free Halloween and Fall recipes I've found. I wanted to cover pretty much every category you may want for this time of year so I'm sure it will be helpful to you. All the recipes I chose to feature in this post are fairy easy and don't require tons of crazy ingredients you have to go out and search for. I don't like recipes with a laundry list of ingredients and I'm sure you don't either. These are all simple gluten-free recipes you can make as well as some Halloween info to help.
So it's been a while since I tried a new recipe and actually stated baking again. A lot of it has to do with trying to cut sugar completely out of my diet, but I felt like I was due for making something! I'm really not someone who likes a lot of really sweet gluten-free baked goods, so my goal with these was to make something not to sweet and something that would be perfect for the mornings. It's very lite and not too filling but has just the right amount of sweetness and flavor. Really the thing I was most impressed with was the texture. You know how a lot of gluten-free breads are really grainy and kind of stale? This was something I got used to with gluten-free breads in general which is why I have learned to just not really eat them anymore. But with this recipe it completely changed my view of gluten-free breads. It really was one of the best gluten-free baked goods  I have ever made with texture, taste, and really everything about it. It is both gluten and dairy free and is by far the best gluten-free bread I have ever made. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Have you ever had one of those days where you really start to crave a food. I'm not talking about an every once in a while chocolate cravings. I'm talking about a craving for the most random food, and for whatever reason you can't get rid of it. Well for me, I happen to be craving pancakes...and bad. I was in a debate with myself to go back to grains and just get the craving done with. But I decided I needed to take the Paleo route instead. I for one have never tried Paleo pancakes, and honestly I didn't know if I even wanted to. I was afraid their would have no taste or would just have a type of weird rubbery texture. Well I was wrong!

Recently I took on the crazy thought of trying to create a Paleo, Gluten, and Dairy free snack for the first time ever. I've been struggling to always have ready to go snacks just there when I need it. So I experimented with a recipe and changed all the ingredients to finally make it my own and most importantly, Paleo! Except it wasn't paleo at all..

The egg McMuffin is one of Mcdonald's most famous products, besides the big mac of course. As much as I hate comparing things to fast food, this is nothing even close to it. Although it may have the name it definitely does not have the chemicals. This is a much healthier and natural option to make an Egg McMuffin but also gluten-free! This is a recipe I discovered from Iowagirleats.com and altered myself. Click Here for the link to the original recipe if you are interested!

Ingredients:
8oz pork sausage
4 eggs
salt & pepper
4 slices cheese
(Daiya Cheese for dairy free)
4 Gluten Free English muffins
(Food For Life)

This is a great, easy, breakfast recipe that is cheap and long lasting. It costs around five dollars to make 10-15 patties. They can also be frozen for weeks and then defrosted later on to make a quick gluten-free breakfast option. Enjoy!

This is a recipe I really used to enjoy before I found out I was sensitive to gluten-free oats. It's extremely easy to make and it's super filling! Most gluten-free recipes require a lot of ingredients or a lot of prep time but this one doesn't. All you do is put the ingredients mixed in a pan then put it in the oven and you're done! It makes a lot of food to last for breakfast for the weak and is a great option for gluten-free kids in the mornings who are not sensitive to oats.
Mmmm...muffins. A lot of the best things for breakfast are usually not naturally gluten-free. Sadly this is something we all have to face not being able to have muffins, pancakes, and other normal breakfast items. So trying to come up with a healthy gluten-free muffin is something I had to come up with. This recipe is very simple to make and dairy free as well. These can also be frozen lasting for weeks in the freezer then be defrosted for later. It makes mornings a lot quicker and still tastes just as great. Hope you like them!
Since school has started, gluten-free meals have to be on the mind and planned for the future. But since being gluten free, it can be difficult to make meals that are both quick and great tasting. Here is a list of some of the best breakfast options you can make and use to help make your mornings easier!
